What’s the Target?

I was speaking to a manager who worked in the manufacturing area of Kodak years ago and he described a situation where the Japanese market was showing them up in production levels and posing a threat to the business. He said that in a normal day’s production there would be a large number of errors and stoppages that meant that productivity was around 40-50% and that had been accepted as usual practise until the threat from the more efficient Japanese market.
